Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879 in Hyderabad to Ajhore Nath Chattopadhyay and Barada Sundari Devi. His native village was Brahmangon, Bikrampur (now Bangladesh). His father, Agorenath Chattopadhyay, was a doctor of science from the University of Edinburgh, which later established in Hyderabad, where he joined Hyderabad College, which later became the Nizam College of Hyderabad.



His mother Barada Sundari Devi was a Bengali poet. He was the eldest of his eight siblings. His brother Virendranath Chattopadhyaya was a revolutionary and the other brother, Harindranath was a poet, an artist and actor.

Naidu passed his 10th examination with Madras University, but later he took a break of 4 years from studying. In 1895, the "Nizam Scholarship Institute", which was established by 6th Nizam-Mir Mehabub Ali Khan, gave Naidu the opportunity to study in the first King's College in England and later to teach at Geerton College, Cambridge.

At the age of 19, after finishing his studies, he met Dr. Govind Rajulu Naidu, whom he was married to. At that time inter-cast marriage was not allowed, but his father had done yes for his marriage.

Sarojini Naidu (born name Sarojini Chattopadhyay) is also known as "Bulbul of India", she was an Indian freedom fighter and a poet. He served as the governor of the United Kingdom Agra and Oudh from 1947 to 1949, becoming the first woman governor of India. She became the second woman president of the Indian National Congress in 1925, and also became the first woman in India to do so.

6) In 1947, he was elected president of the Asian Council of the Asian Council in Delhi.

7) He was elected as the first Governor of Uttar Pradesh in independent India in 1947.
